Applicom

The Applicom Supervisor Driver was designed for the use with APPLICOM communication board, by means of APPLICOM.DLL function library. Because of the peculiarity of the APPLICOM board and software this driver can communicate with a number of different protocols, i.e. all the protocol supported by APPLICOM communication boards. Supervisor reads  data through the Applicom database and writes data directly to the device, by means of the function available in the so called WAIT MODE.

For the reading processes, the driver make use of the datatabase access function, so it reads data already in the APPLICOM database. For these data to be updated, one has to define proper Read Cyclic Function that have to be executed with a certain frequency.

Writings goes directly to the device, with the help of specific function. The necessary data to address the right device and the right device data are taken from the variable's associate Cyclic Function. For Input/Output tasks, the Read Cyclic Function is sufficient for both the reading and writing processes; for Output task it is necessary to define a Write Cyclic Function, disabled at the startup, that the driver will use only to get the device data necessary to perform the writings.
