Saia Multi Mode

The Saia® Multiport driver has been developed to communicate with Saia-Burgess PCD series PLCs. It is based on a Saia-Burgess library that make possible to communicate in five different ways:

1. PGU mode. Via a point to point RS232 connection between the Port 0 of the PLC and a serial port of the PC. (PGU)

2. S-BUS mode via S-BUS network (RS485). The connection needs a RS232/RS485 converter, in order to connect a serial port of the PC with a RS485 net that can hold a number of PLCs. (S-BUS)

3. S-BUS mode via Ethernet. The PC and the PLCs have only to be connected in the same Ethernet TCP/IP network, with address compatible with the current subnet. (SOCKET)

4. S-BUS mode via USB. (USB)

5. ProfiS-BUS mode. PC and the PLCs are connected in an Ethernet TCP/IP network. (PROFI-SBUS)

For every communication mode, the driver needs the Saia-Burgess communication library (SCommCom.dll) and driver (SCommDrv.exe) installed on the local PC.

This can be obtained by either installing SAIA® PG5 development software or the standalone, re-distributable  SAIA® communication library. The driver requires version 1.3 or later of  SAIA® communication library.
